First Annual, "Old Master" Celebration
First annual celebration honoring the great, Joe "Gans" Gant. The "Old Master" was the first African American to win a world title in the sport of boxing. Gant was born and raised in Baltimore City. The celebration will honor the Gant's legacy by promoting the sport of boxing and community service.

About the event
Join us for the 1st annual celebration honoring the great, Joe "Gans" Gant. The "Old Master" was the first African American to win a world title in the sport of boxing and considered to be one of the greatest boxers ever. Gant was born and raised in Baltimore City and invested his earnings back into his community to inspire future generations.
We will mark the 2018 event with a special presentation on the life and legacy of Joe Gans, a pop-up exhibition, and a reception of all things Baltimore!
The annual "Old Master" celebration will honor Gant's legacy by promoting the sport of boxing in Baltimore City and the responsibility of giving back to our community through community service.
